Go-to Baking Desserts When You Feel Lazy

Baking seems like a fun and relaxing activity, but it’s rather time-consuming. That’s why I prefer to bake desserts when I need a little extra pick-me-up or when I just need a few hours of peace and quiet. Sometimes, baking desserts just seems to ease me into a more relaxed state of mind, and that’s when the baking really comes easy.

When life gets busy, you may not have the time or energy to bake. But just because you’re not in the kitchen doesn’t mean you can’t have a sweet treat. Consider this: baking may take a bit longer and require more supplies than purchasing goods from a bakery or grocery store; require you to get the oven repaired (likely from a reputed Appliance Repair Services provider) in case you haven’t used it for some time now, but the results will definitely be worth it. There are tons of no-bake desserts with only a few ingredients that you can make in just a few minutes.

Consider these go-to options the next time you’re feeling lazy:

  • Apple Crisp

If you’re tired of having the same old thing to eat with the main course and don’t want to cook anything elaborate, but you want something delicious and filling, here’s a recipe for a timesaving, delicious baked treat. Apple crisp is made with apples, cinnamon, oats, and brown sugar. It’s the perfect comfort food for cold days, and it’s easy to make.

  • Cookies-and-Cream Shortbread Cookies.

Sometimes life happens. You’re slogging away at work or running errands all day, and by the time you get home from work, you’re too exhausted to bake anything. While that’s certainly understandable, you should never let your motivation to whip up a home-cooked meal slip. There are plenty of recipes available in baking books, which are easy to make, even on a tired night, and one of these is the Cookies-and-Cream Shortbread Cookies. These cookies are a mix of butter and cream cheese, combined with crushed Oreos and a hint of vanilla extract. The result will be a delicious, creamy, and crunchy treat.

  • Chocolate Skillet Cake.

We’ve all been there. The weekend comes, and you’ve been so busy you don’t have time to bake a cake, and that’s OK-you’ve just got to get over it. Well, good news: it only takes 13 minutes to make this Chocolate Skillet Cake. Be sure to make a batch of whipped cream to top it with or serve it warm with some vanilla ice cream.

  • 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies.

Baking your own treats can be easy when you use the 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies recipe. All you do is pour the ingredients into a bowl and mix them together. Once you get them onto the baking sheets, bake them in the oven for about 10 minutes. You’ll love the way that these cookies taste and how simple they are to make. And it’s great to know that you made them yourself because let’s face it, nothing says “I love you” like a batch of freshly baked cookies.

  • Blackberry Jam Pie-Crust Straws.

Baking is the perfect way to use up all those summer fruits before they go bad. And adding fresh berries to a recipe will amp up the flavour even more. These Blackberry Jam Pie-Crust Straws utilize one of my favourite store-bought pie crusts, which eliminates the need to roll out your own dough. Just spread the jam filling onto the crust, top with berries, and roast in the oven. The flaky pie dough becomes crisp, and the berries become juicy.

When life gets busy, it can be tempting to skip dessert. After all, who wants to spend more time in the kitchen when you could just grab some sweets from the store? But, with the right recipes, you can make your desserts at home that are just as delicious as the ones you buy from your favourite bakery.
